As we have stated previously on this blog, New England Center for Hair Restoration is one of only two facilities in the entire world performing Sub-FUE and Micro-FUE.  Having such a facility so close to both Boston and Providence is an enjoyable convenience for Massachusetts and Rhode Island residents who are suffering from hair loss. Dr. Ryan Welter carefully conducts manual extraction of follicular units that leaves the areas intact for future regrowth.

Micro-FUE extracts follicular units intact with a diameter of 0.95 mm or less, and sub-FUE takes the process a whole step further.  Using a very small punch, 0.8 mm, we extract half of a follicular unit, leaving part of the hair in the scalp to grow again and taking the extracted micro graft out for implantation.  This leaves the donor area more intact for future growth, and avoids over harvesting of the donor area.

Patients choose Micro-FUE and Sub-FUE because of the better results that ensue from the procedure. Unlike the stripping method of follicular extraction, Micro-FUE and Sub-FUE do not leave patients with a linear scar. Additionally, the method gives patients earlier hair growth in the transplanted areas, resulting in better hair density.

The reasons for the better results of the Micro and Sub-FUE method are largely because of the meticulous detail it requires from doctors.  Dr. Ryan Welter takes the additional time to ensure each follicular unit extracted is left intact for future harvest. Reharvesting is yet another benefit of the Sub-FUE. Why destroy hair in the process of restoring it?

Choose the right doctor using the right method for the best results possible.  Dr. Welter, Sub-FUE, better results!
